Gujarat Titans Set a High Target in IPL Clash

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 2: In a thrilling match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Gujarat Titans (GT) achieved an impressive score of 224 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday.


After winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins opted to bowl first during the 51st match of this season's lucrative league at the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.


Opening the innings for the Titans, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan wasted no time, aggressively targeting the bowlers right from the start.


The Gujarat team reached the 50-run milestone in just the fourth over, with Gill hitting a six off Cummins, leaving them at 53 without loss after four overs, with Sudarshan on 27 and Gill on 25.


Leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari claimed the first wicket by dismissing Sudarshan on the second last ball of the seventh over. Sudarshan scored a quick 48 runs off 23 balls, including nine boundaries.


Following Sudarshan's exit, wicketkeeper Jos Buttler joined Gill at the crease. The Titans crossed the 100-run mark in 8.2 overs, with Buttler hitting a six off Ansari.


Gill was run out in the 13th over after scoring 76 runs off 38 balls. The Titans reached 150 runs in the 14th over, with Buttler contributing significantly.


Buttler hit a six to push the score past 200 but was dismissed shortly after, scoring 64 runs off 37 balls. Washington Sundar's late cameo helped the Titans finish at 224/6.


For SRH, Jaydev Unadkat was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for 35 runs in four overs. Pat Cummins and Zeeshan Ansari each took one wicket, conceding 40 and 42 runs, respectively.
